Why is Quechua an important language to learn?

Have you dreamed of making the trek to Machu Picchu in Peru, whether to experience the solitude, see the goats, or simply for the fact that it is one of the seven original wonders of the world?  Venturing off to this spectacular country is going to be much easier for you if you take the time to learn how to speak Quechua.  This language is widely spoken in different areas of Peru, as well as parts of Colombia, Bolivia, Argentina, and Chile.  Approximately eleven million people currently speak this language, which means that you could potentially make that many new friends during your travels!  There are different dialects for Quechua, so you need to know which one you want to learn before you begin.  The one dialect spoken by the most people is Cuzco-Bolivian, so it may be best if you start with that and then branch out as you get more familiar with the language.  When you take the time to learn Quechua, you will find that you can easily learn more about the cultures and traditions of the locals, which will allow you to share that info with others.  Of course, you don’t need to travel to these parts of the world to learn this language.  You can easily learn it to use with those that you meet near your home or to enhance your skills for work and the future.
